The S&P 500 has continued to run higher, rising 2.84% (+14.05% YTD) since the last update:

On the jobs front, the monthly employment rate for September rose to 4.2%, with a disappointing 29,000 new jobs created. Oil prices fell to the $92 level (down 7% from $100), with that price reflected in a local unleaded regular gasoline price of $3.99 (down from $4.17) at my last fill-up.

On the financial front, I again skipped my usual Fidelity 401k transaction (FSKAX) and Vanguard VTI purchase in my taxable brokerage account because I am not comfortable adding to our equity holdings at this time. I did take an S Corp distribution and my T-Bill holdings automatically rolled into new ones: 13 week 3.828% -> 4.211%, 4 week 3.839% -> 4.048%, and 8 week 3.747% -> 4.071%. My Alliant Credit Union 17 month 4.35% CD matured and I moved some of that cash into 7 year T-Notes (CUSIP 91282CRM5) at a 5.085% yield to maturity. I'm also anticipating the September 2026 CPI-U release tomorrow for I Bond purposes as well as seeing if the FOMC raises rates when it meets at the end of October.

As for the non-financial, we enjoyed a nice family holiday weekend as the cooler weather has started. Our small home improvement project worked out well and so far Q4 is off to a great start even if I'm not ready for holiday season to start. :)
