April 2007 Financial Asset Roundup
Here are my current financial assets as of the market close on April 9th, 2007:
I had nice increase in the last month, since the stock market has produced a nice gain in the that time (S&P 500 index was up more than 2%):

I did have an increase in money outflows this month due to my snowblower purchase, a furniture purchase by Mrs. Frugalson, and the payments due with my state and federal income tax returns. I was able to minimize that somewhat by taking a distribution from my S Corp, but I will also be looking at the cost of replacing our 10 year old builder grade bathroom vanity and Formica counter top this month with a larger vanity and granite counter top. I will be able to do the labor myself, but I am still looking at about a $1,300 cost for materials.

I have been reading your blog regularly. Interesting stuff. I would suggest that instead of listing your financial asset roundup on a per account basis, you list them per asset type basis (eg small cap, money market, large cap value, foreign etc ). That would make more sense IMHO and would help in making a rebalancing decision as well

Thanks for your thoughts, you raise a good point.
I haven't really focused on my asset allocation plan on this blog, mainly because that is something I typically look at only once per year. My asset allocation target is also bit fuzzy, so I tend to treat my SEP/401k, Roth IRA, and taxable accounts as separate entities with their own asset allocation targets.
I agree that this is something I should address at some point, but I admit that I haven't wrapped my head around how to best handle that.
