The S&P 500 has been near all-time highs, rising 6.80% (+23.71% YTD) since the last update:

On the jobs front, the unemployment rate for October fell once again to 4.6%, with a strong 531,000 jobs added. Oil prices remained flat at the $80 level, which translates to a local regular unleaded gasoline price of $3.29 at my last fill-up. The economy had some strong news last week with the passing of the bipartisan infrastructure bill, although that was tempered by the inflation numbers released yesterday. While I'm very surprised that the economy has held up as well as it has during a once-in-a-century pandemic, the global recovery will require the use of all the COVID-fighting tools we have at our disposal (vaccines, testing, masks, new treatments, etc.). With a little luck, we'll see OPEC increase oil production and the global supply chain issues finally sort themselves out.

On the financial front, my assets have once again hit an all-time high, surpassing the previous high from September 2021. Other than that, it was more of the usual 401k transactions, a monthly Vanguard VTI brokerage purchase, and a distribution from my S Corp. I don't see much else on the horizon until January 2022 when I'm eligible to make another Series I savings bond purchase.

As for the non-financial, with so many friends and family vaccinated and taking proper COVID-19 precautions I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a more normal holiday season. With everything that's going on in the world, I personally have a lot to be thankful for and would be grateful to be able to celebrate accordingly.
